Vera Manuel devoted her life to encouraging others to free ourselves through the use of our personal voices. Telling the truth is disarming, speaking your truth is a generous and healing gift.

Regina: Staged Reading of The Strength of Indian Women



Many thanks to the volunteers who came together to present a staged reading of Vera Manuel's The Strength of Indian Women at the University of Regina, 1 November 2019.

  2. It was a great experience. It's commendable and also speaks to the organizing and people who stepped in and offered to read (some at the last minute), the ceremonial people and knowledge keepers as well as Vera's writings, circle of friends/family and the life of Storyteller artists who helped build this vision and scholars who have brought it to another area of understanding & knowing, also, the spirit of the stories and prayers put out for this work, decolonization, healing and truth.
